Since becoming a teacher nine years ago, Alice has taught in a variety of year groups across the primary age range. During this time she has become a member of the school’s Senior Leadership Team and led on several key areas of school development. Alice has led both her own school and others within the local area in redefining processes for systems to deliver accurate and timely assessment for and of learning. In the past eighteen months Alice has been studying for a Masters in Education with a focus in this area.
Over the past four years, Alice has developed a passionate interest in how the successful integration of learning and technology can lead to continuing improvement in the provision of enhanced equality of opportunity, access, engagement and progress. Alongside a colleague, she developed her understanding of how technology can support the delivery of a wide and rich curriculum, leading in turn to empowerment and independence amongst both students and colleagues.
Most recently, she has been leading on Integrated Learning throughout the school. This involves training and supporting colleagues in the classroom and in leadership in the use of mobile technology, both within the school and externally. This also included the planning and delivering of key training through the Apple Olympus RTC. Through her work in the use of technology in education, Alice has been invited to deliver a seminar at the West of England ICT conference, the focus of which will be on how to successfully integrate a Group:1 tablet scheme within a classroom setting.
By facilitating the use of appropriate pedagogy, Alice believes it is essential to provide opportunities through technology to empower students to modify their learning and understanding at a greater depth. She is dedicated to successfully providing the seamless use of technology within educational environments, enabling all students to achieve through the provision of an engaging and progressive curriculum.
Alice is looking forward to sharing the expertise she has established whilst in the classroom through developing support and empowerment for leaders, teachers and students in the use of successfully and effectively integrating technology in education.
